The lovely Upper Peninsula and the Hytinen family welcome you to our
Newfoundland world. We are a home-based breeder, dedicated
to this most gentle giant of the canine community.
We
strive to breed and raise only the most physically sound and
gentlest
of temperaments.
The
Newfoundland, known as the gentle giant of the dog world, combines
a
large, powerful physique with a mild, docile character. Originally bred
and used for towing
fisherman's
nets, and water rescue, this savior is as much at home in the water as
on land.
The
Newfoundland can be described as a jack-of-all trades in the canine world.
They are
able
and willing to do their job whether it falls into the category of water
work,
competing
in obedience, or draft work. They lack the aloof and watchful
nature
of a guard dog, but are protective of their owners, and children.
They
are happy to attempt any task to please their owners and,
although
they may not excel, the effort made is a delight to watch!
Our
puppies are raised in our home, with constant interaction and attention.
We
strive to make them good members of the family, not merely "pets".
We
encourage any interested families to contact the owners of any of our puppies.
Health
and happiness is NOT an accident, and we will continue to work very hard
in
the future to insure that all of our Newfs have both.
